The Salmon River

The Salmon River is a major tributary of the Columbia River.  From its headwaters it is freeflowing (dam free) for 425 miles before it joins the Snake River.  It is best known as the “River of No Return” as it flows through the Frank Church Wilderness.  Backcountry River Guides is permitted for over 200 miles of the Salmon, specializing in steelhead fishing the most remote water in the lower 48.  Our goal is to get away from crowds and get you on fish.
